2019 School Safety Training Forum Pre-Conference: Applied Threat Assessment for K12 School Teams and Practitioners

As a pre-cursor to the Virginia School Safety Training Forum and as a natural next step in school threat assessment team preparedness, VDCJS is offering this half day pre-conference training entitled Applied Threat Assessment for K12 School Teams and Practitioners. This course is offered for established school threat assessment team members and those with responsibility for and experience with K12 threat assessment. This training is designed to enhance skills, identify common team problems and solutions, and provide information on best practices and standards.

Target Audience: The target audience for this course is members of school threat assessment teams and those with a role in preventing, deterring, interviewing or managing concerns of violence in schools, as well as those providing oversight to school teams at the division level. This course is appropriate for division superintendents and other division leaders, school principals, assistant principals, local law enforcement officers, counselors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and local mental health professionals.
