Managing Critical Incidents for Higher Education Institutions: A Multi-Disciplinary, Community Approach

This course is geared toward public safety managers, administrative personnel, supervisors, and others potentially involved in an incident response involving higher education institution campuses. It provides the skills necessary to effectively manage a critical incident by applying and implementing an all-hazard, multi-disciplinary, command and management team approach as required by the National Incident Management System (NIMS), using both the Incident Command System (ICS) and Multi-Agency Coordination Systems (MACS). The course is intended to assist your higher education institution and all of its stakeholders in developing an all-hazard, multi-discipline team-based approach capable of responding to a large-scale or expanding incident, whether natural or man-made.
Target Audience: This three-day intensive training class is designed for Virginia Campus and municipal law enforcement officers, campus security officers, Emergency Management, Emergency Operations Center Staff, Campus Administration, Athletic Departments, Operators of Large Venues, Campus Environmental Health & Safety, Public Works, Student Life/Affairs, Fire Services, Emergency Medical Services, Public Health Organizations, Public Works, Local Hospitals.
