Campus Safety and Security Data Analysis Cutting Tool

Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE)

This analysis cutting tool, provided by the Office of Postsecondary Education (OPE) of the U.S. Department of Education, was designed to provide rapid customized reports for public inquiries relating to campus crime and fire data. The data are drawn from the OPE Campus Safety and Security Statistics website database to which crime statistics and fire statistics (as of the 2010 data collection) are submitted annually, via a web-based data collection, by all postsecondary institutions that receive Title IV funding (i.e., those that participate in federal student aid programs). This data collection is required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Higher Education Opportunity Act. The tool allows users to get data for one school, compare data for multiple schools, generate trend data, and download custom data.

The National Center for Campus Public Safety website is funded through cooperative agreement 2013-MU-BX-K011 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. Neither the U.S. Department of Justice nor any of its components operate, control, are responsible for, or necessarily endorse, this website (including, without limitation, its content, technical infrastructure, and policies, and any services or tools provided).
