In July, we welcome Clery Center Executive Director Alison Kiss to discuss the challenges in implementing provisions of the Clery Act and Title IX on college and university campuses. We hope you can join us for the twenty-first webinar in our Campus Public Safety Online series, Top 5 Challenges with the Clery Act and Title IX.
Since joining the Clery Center, Alison has been instrumental in the development, implementation, and instruction of curricula for institutions of higher education. Before her role at the Clery Center, Alison was Director of Wellness, Alcohol, and Drug Education at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and she is currently enrolled in a residency doctoral program in higher education administration at Northeastern University. Alison has served as an expert witness in campus sexual assault civil cases and has been a contributor to major media outlets.
In this webinar, Alison will focus on five key Clery Act challenges, based on years of experience working with colleges and universities throughout the country, addressing specific areas such as:
- Timely warning policies and procedures
- Coordination between departments
- Current findings through Department of Education (ED) Clery Act Compliance Team programs reviews and voluntary resolution agreements through ED’s Office for Civil Rights
This presentation is appropriate for participants with all levels of Clery Act knowledge. Participants will learn ways to engage the campus community, when necessary, and how to identify solutions for challenges discussed.
